    John holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Professional Background

John Latta has been working with professional services firms for over thirty years. His business career began as a corporate tax consultant and evolved into two key management positions for his firm, Grant Thornton LLP, where he experienced first-hand the challenges of achieving financial results through the delivery of professional services.

Following five years as Grant Thornton’s national director of tax services, he served another five years as the office managing partner for the firm’s offices in San Francisco and San Jose, California.

Throughout his Grant Thornton career, John’s clients included a variety of professional organizations. In 1999, he founded Orion Advisory Group LLC to exclusively support the business of the professions. Since then, he has helped firms that practice law, create advertising, consult with other businesses, and deliver engineering, architectural and money management services. He is the author of Professional Success: How to Thrive in the Professional World.
